Why Join AVPNext?
AVP sanctions our league and provides Liability Insurance that allows us to operate. If you join AVPNext, you will be covered individually under their insurance program if you get injured during one of the sanctioned events and you will be able to enter other AVPNext events without paying an additional $10 membership fee. Is there any cost for an AVPNext Membership?
Not if you sign up through A/E Volleyball Association. All costs are paid for by the league and are included in your league team fee. If you sign up for AVPNext elsewhere or on their website it will cost you $10 per person. Other tournaments such as those sponsored by Alki Players Association, Madman Volleyball Productions, Moxie Volleyball, NW Volleyball and others require AVPNext membership to participate. If you join through A/E Volleball you will receive a confirmation of your membership that is "portable" to other events but only if you provide an email address so they can send it to you.
Do I have to pay an upgrade fee to play in other grass or sand AVP sanctioned events?
No - not this year. If you register through A/E Volleyball Association and provide an email address, AVPNext will email you confirmation of your AVPNext membership that you can take to other AVPNext sanctioned events as proof of your membership.
Why is AVP doing this?
They are trying to build support for the sport of volleyball via a grass roots approach. They want to get the word out on their Beach Volleyball program so as to develop more fans and audience base which in turn will increase the interest of sponsors that support their programs and TV broadcasts. They will send out emails from time to time alerting people to when and where their events are. They are also building an amateur tournament program that will act as a farm team for the professional programs.
Do I have to subsribe to AVP or AVPNext newsletters to be a member?
No - this are strickly optional and will not be sent unless you click yes in the box.
Will AVP Next sell my personal information?
No.
Do I have to join AVP to play in the A/E League?
No not at this time but we strongly prefer that you do so that we will continue to receive support from AVP in terms of insurance coverage and prizes. That allows us to continue to operate at a reasonable cost which benefits all of us.
What are the minimum requirements to be eligible to play in the A/E League?
It is mandatory to file in the waiver form on line with following information:
Printed First and Last Name
Team Name
Then print the form and add the following on the hard copy
Date of Birth
Signature.
Parent's Signature if under 18.
A team using unregistered players risks forfeiting all their games.
Why do we need your birth date?
In case we need to verify a person's identity at a game or tournament to confirm that they are a member and have signed the waiver. A picture ID with your name and birth date may be requested at an event. The birth date was chosen instead of more sensitive data such as your social security number or driver's license number. We also need birthdates in order to verify who is a minor to make sure we get parental signatures for minors.
What do I do if I can't get the form to print so I can sign it?
Go to the forms page and download the current version of the waiver form or ask your captain for a hard copy. Fill it out, sign it and hand it to your captain who will mail it to us.
